Windows Server 2012 and its upgraded version

Hello, everyone,

Because of the need of work, I want to test a MCSE qualification.
But I also browsed the relevant information, the server has 2012 version, 2016 version, 2019 version.
There are so many versions, so there are some questions in my mind:
1） Is the 2012 version out of date?
2）  Will the application of Learning version 2019 have a better future?
